Casa Cornejo is made up of two private homes and a guesthouse, which can be rented on their own or together. The setup works well for solo travelers, couples, or small groups—up to eight guests total—with plenty of space and privacy to go around.
Tucked inside a quiet, gated community with a night guard, it’s a peaceful, adults-only escape surrounded by nature. We keep things calm and restful here, so the property isn’t suited for parties, pets, or young children.
Situated right above Casa Alex & Casita Lorie, SWAR Villa is a private two-bedroom home with a large, ocean view pool and treehouse deck all to yourself. With two king bedrooms, ensuite baths, and a full kitchen with outdoor grill, it’s perfect for couples or friends traveling together.
Casa Alex has a main house and guesthouse (Casita Lorie), perfect for two couples or friends traveling together—each gets their own house for total privacy, but you still feel like you’re staying together. With a breezy open-plan kitchen and living area that opens fully to the outdoors in the main house and a large ocean view pool, this is the perfect place to spend the day, watch the sunset, or unwind after exploring.
If you’re traveling with a small group, you can reserve the entire property, consisting of two main houses and the guesthouse, for the full Casa Cornejo experience.
This is the ideal setup for families or small groups who want to stay close while still having space to themselves. With private entrances, multiple kitchens, and two private ocean view pools, everyone gets their own corner of quiet, while having lots room to gather when you want to.
Traveling solo or as a couple? These one-bedroom options are a perfect fit.
If you don’t need the second bedroom, SWAR can be booked as a one-bedroom stay. The extra room will be closed off, but you’ll still have full access to the house and private pool, as the second bedroom won’t be rented to someone else.
Casa Alex can be rented on its own, without the guesthouse, perfect for couples only needing one-bedroom. You’ll still have a full kitchen & living area, as well as access to the pool, which is shared with the guests of the casita.
Ideal for solo travelers or a couple, the guesthouse can be rented on its own as well. You’ll have a private entrance and patio, access to the pool and outdoor space, shared with Casa Alex, and a kitchenette in a cozy studio set up.

Our property manager was born and raised right here in Santa Teresa / Mal País. He knows the best surf spots, hidden beaches, real local food, and who to call for anything from in-home massages, to fishing tours, or last-minute ATV rentals. Whether you need help planning your days or just want a good recommendation, he’s here, but never in your way.
We want you to feel at home. Not just in the house, but in the rhythm of this place. Relaxed, cared for, and free to enjoy it all without overthinking a thing.
To arrive at Casa Cornejo, you can fly into either San José (SJO) or Liberia (LIR) airport. It’s then about 5.5 hours by car, or you can take a 30-minute domestic flight to Cobano, followed by a 25-minute drive to the property. Once you’re here, the best way to get around is by ATV or 4×4, as a lot of roads are dirt, and you’ll want the freedom to explore.
Santa Teresa is known for its surf, incredible food, and laid-back energy. Spend your days at the beach, go fishing, book a yoga class, or explore nearby waterfalls and hidden spots along the coast. The property is just a few minutes from town, so it’s easy to get to great restaurants, shops, and the best surf breaks, while still feeling far enough away to have full peace and quiet.
